Truckers turned out to be the most in-demand profession in Belarus
The labor market in Belarus has faced a serious problem: the number of offers in the national bank of vacancies is much higher than the number of applicants. According to the data for the beginning of July 2019, there were more than 93 thousand vacancies in the republic, which required mainly representatives of working professions and specialists in the medical field. At the same time, it turned out that Belarusians, instead of looking for a job in their native country, increasingly began to seek employment abroad, reports Tyt.by

Curiously, the most in demand, judging by the number of job offers, were unexpectedly truck drivers, ready to perform international transportation. More than 4.5 thousand vacancies are currently open for holders of E-category driver’s license and Schengen visa, agreeing to a salary of up to Br2 thousand. The country needs doctors and nurses almost as much, though, here the maximum income is up to Br1.5 thousand. Among other specialists, which have become acutely lacking in the country – salesmen, cleaners and construction workers.

According to the official data on labor migration, representatives of the mentioned professions with a Belarusian passport should be sought in Russia, Poland, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. These were the countries where citizens most often went to work in 2018. At the same time, sellers from Belarus were willingly called to work in China and Qatar. It is noted that even the president of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko, recognized the deficit of working professions almost a year ago, in particular, mentioning that the country has lost almost 50 thousand construction workers in recent years, who left for other countries.
